Get paid for generating heat whilst reducing your energy bills and carbon emissions

Biomass is a renewable, low carbon, sustainable fuel that is widely available throughout the UK and a biomass boiler can provide a total solution to heating and hot water for both domestic and commercial consumers. They also provide:

  • Substantial financial benefits from the RHI
  • High efficiencies, converting up to 96% of energy into usable heat
  • Potential to reduce your heating bill by more than 50%
  • Low carbon, sustainable fuel – a greener alternative to fossil fuel
  • Tax breaks on purchase price (0% – 5% VAT)
  • Locally sourced fuel means a reduced carbon footprint
  • Cost effective for off-grid areas
  • Can be easily connected to virtually any existing heating system making it an ideal installation for retrofit

A thorough survey of your premises is undertaken by our qualified heating engineer to assess your current system and calculate your heat load requirements and hot water needs. A design is prepared for you which includes the recommended boiler size, estimated calculations on savings to be made, income generated under the RHI, annual fuel requirements, fuel recommendations and upfront cost involved for your consideration.

Green Team Partnership are happy to assist with the relevant planning applications and can file the lengthy RHI application for you. Under the current terms of the RHI scheme biomass installations will receive the following for each kWh generated.

Eligible Sizes Tariff Rate (pence p/kWh)
Small Commercial Biomass < 200kWh Tier 1: 3.10p/kWh
Tier 2: 0.82p/kWh
Medium Commercial Biomass > 200kWh – < 1000kWh Tier 1: 5.24p/kWh
Tier 2: 2.27p/kWh
Large Commercial Biomass 1MW < Tier 1: 2.05/kWh

The biomass sector has been broken down into three tariffs; small, medium and large commercial. Small commercial is for systems less than 200kWth and is broken down into two tiers. Tier 1 is 3.10p per kWh and Tier 2 is 0.82p per kWh. Tier 1 applies annually up to a ‘Tier Break’ and Tier 2 above the ‘Tier Break’. The ‘Tier Break’ is the installed capacity x 1314 peak load hours.

Medium commercial is for systems above 200kWth but less than 1000kWth and again uses a similar tier system, however, Tier 1 is 5.24p per kWh and Tier 2 is 2.27p per kWh. For large commercial biomass; 1000kWth and above there is only 1 tariff which is 2.05p per kWh using the metering system.
